The Dining Room Is Done

We've been in this house for just a bit over five years. We may or may not be on the way to doing the entire place in midcentury. If it's not completely midcentury it will be close. Five years? What the heck have you been doing, Dave? Well, I've been busy. But now that this room is done we're highly motivated to get more done. Wanna see what we've done so far? Click on in.

After five years the dining room is done. Please ignore the power cord under stereo.

Table was made in Denmark, is solid teak, and was designed by Niels Moller. Chairs are called Eva, they're also Danish, solid teak, and designed by Neils Koefoed. Console radio is Curtis Mathes, Read about the china cabinet here. Clock on left is a Seth Thomas.
The clock is a Lux. The pole, pull down, and table lamps are no name but fabulous. The credenza is Kroehler.

Without going into the gory details, this table and chairs is the most expensive thing in the room. Two captain's chairs and a double sized leaf make it complete. It needs some oil and snazzier seat fabric, but that will come in time.

Console stereo is a 1961 Curtis Mathes Lexington model.

Wonder Woman is fond of curly sticks when it comes to flower arrangements. The wax fruit bowl was my idea.

I picked up that table lamp in Ohio during 2012's The Road Trip The tiger is from the 50s and an auction find.

On the cabinet is a really cool green TV lamp. I'll have to do a post on it some day. The pole lamp was an eBay item.

There's that lamp and tiger again. I had to have the conch shell lamp. I live in FLA and collect old FLA souvenirs.

From here forward is for Bob "Solid State, Baby" Oster only. I'm showing him some of the stuff I've acquired. So everyone else please shut your eyes. Bob, excuse the messiness, I live in a warehouse (except for the dining room).

Arvin electric fireplace

Pair of late 60s bamboo loungers. That teak table could use some oil, couldn't it?

The elusive chartreuse panther TV lamp.

Told ya it's a warehouse.

From our Asian (or as I say - Oriental)  inspired department.

Doo dads, and what nots, and Jamaicans. Oh my!

What would the 60s have been without long necked geese.

I like turquoise. I really do.

Were you counting lamps? There must be a dozen or more.

See ya, Bob. See ya everybody who didn't have their eyes closed.

We'll be right back with . . . more stuff.

    1. Thanks, Dana for the nice words. And who would have thought this? Me throwing around a designer name. ;-)

  2. I love that your joint looks just like my joint on any given day (that we aren't having a party)! We got the same affliction.
