Saarien Tulip Style Knockoff Table

If you'll remember, I was out thrifting one day and found these smoked acrylic tulip style chairs.

I had no illusions that I would ever find more and I figured to flip them. Then I found a table. Hmmm! What to do?

I found this table in the back of my favorite Lehigh Acres thrift store. It was marked one hundred thirty five dollars. Way too much for my budget. From previous dealings I knew that it would have to sit for 30 days before they would budge on the price. So I let it sit, checking up on it from time to time.

As you can see it's a two piece table. The pedestal has a small vinyl covered top and the dark glass piece fits on top of that. The sticky vinyl keeps the glass from sliding around.

The glass is in pretty good shape. It has a few scratches that we may have to work on, but overall the glass top and the pedestal are both in pretty good shape.

I'll probably rough up the pedestal with a green pad, prime it and paint it white to match the chairs.

In the house it's much darker and you can't really see through the table top like you can in the outside pix.

So I waited the required month, went in on a busy Saturday morning and bought it.

That's Wonder Woman's Jeep with the SCUBA plate on the front.

We dragged the smoked acrylic chairs out on to the driveway to photograph them with the table. With a little cleaning and paint I believe we'll have a pretty decent looking matched set.

I'm fine with the raspberry colored seat coverings . . .

but Wonder Woman has something a bit more striking in mind.

We'll be right back with . . . more stuff.

  1. Hi there! I am your newest follower. Found you over at Mr Mod's blog.
As far as painting the base to match the chairs...I would almost wonder about painting the base of the chairs to match the chrome base of the table. Can't wait to read through the rest of your blog :)

  2. Hi Rachael

Welcome to my particular corner of the www. Glad to have you here. Tell your friends.

No plans have been cast into concrete for the ultimate finish of the table. I do like the chrome, but don't know what I'd do to match the chairs to it.
