Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz's House in Palm Springs

I can not imagine any cooler lifestyle than being filthy rich and living in Palm Springs in the late 50s early 60s. Nothing. There is not a thing cooler. Not even Beverly Hills, with its "swimmin' pools" and "movie stars" can top living out in the desert with Frank, Dina Shore, Bing & Bob, Liberace, etc.

Lucy & Desi's House in Palm Springs - late 1950s.

Today we focus on Lucy & Desi's house in the desert. Designed by Paul Williams, and moved into in 1954, this ranch house has 4400 square feet and 6 bedrooms.

I don't need to provide any commentary, these cool old houses speak for themselves. I'll caption each picture and stay out of the way. Enjoy.

Front entry. Frank has the same big flagstones around his pool.

What would living in the desert without water be like? Dry!

Lots of glass walls make the outside part of the inside.

Now I'm wondering if those are big flagstones, or maybe stamped concrete.

I'll bet this is beautiful in person. Redwood, stone, all that natural stuff.

Cool iron shelving. Looks like multi-tiered planters.

You suppose this is "Little Ricky's" room?

Love the goose neck lamps as sconces.

Pinch Pleats! (that's curtains for you really straight guys)

What's having all that money mean if you don't have an indoor planter.

Wonder if they ever watched I Love Lucy on that cool old TV.

Tongue and groove ceilings with beams. I'll take it.

Really open floor plan. And those chairs look like they would match my sofa.

Steel kitchen cabinets. I'll bet Pam at RR knows exactly what they are.

Tongue and groove, board and batten, and cool spot lights.

Hope you enjoyed the tour.

We'll be back later with . . . more stuff.
