Stuff That Didn't Get Its Own Post, Issue #1

When you go out thrifting multiple times per week you tend to bring home a lot of stuff that's not worthy of its own post. So you lump all the images together in a folder and drag them out for Sunday. Well, it's Sunday. Guess what. It's time to read issue #1 of Stuff That Didn't Get Its Own Post. Oh, and just because I've written this every Sunday since the beginning -

Hey, it's Sunday and I don't work too hard on Sunday.

Here's issue #1

A little colored glass thingie. Wonder Woman thinks it's Murano. I think not.

Looks like it's all glass here in issue #1. A colored glass thingie, a martini pitcher with stirrer, and a gold vase.

Let's have a look.

Salvation Army Family Store, Cape Coral, FL.

It's nice, but I don't think it's "anything".

I didn't already have one.

This is the bottom end. Whadda ya think? Valuable or trinket?

I'm not sure that this is very old, but it was complete with stirrer.

And you know you NEVER find these things with their stirrer intact.

Now that I have one I'm afraid to use it. Don't want to break it.

Not sure what to call this. It's a bowl of some kind.

Is it Murano? Honestly, I don't know. Someone tell me.

I guess you could put M&Ms in it for when you want to give your kids a sugar rush.

Sure is pretty, isn't it?

That's it for issue #1 of Stuff That Didn't Get Its Own Post. See you next week.

We'll be right back with . . . more stuff.

  1. Nice. I like all of it! The swung vase (top) would cost about $15 or more at an antique mall...more at a retro shop. The martini pitcher is priceless...duh. What else you gonna mix your martini in...a shaker? Don't be absurd, you'd bruise the Gin (or Vodka...if you grew up in a barn...like me). The pinched glass bowl is pretty but looks a little contemporary to me. This one I probably would have passed on as it looks a lot like the stuff I see at Big Lots...that also looks great, but I like to stick with vintage when I can.

  2. Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. James Bond drinks martinis made with vodka.

But then again, he has them "shaken, not stirred" so I don't know. Maybe you're both born in a barn.

How do you look in a tux?
